Campuestohan Highland Resort is the brainchild of the visionary couple Ricardo “Cano” Tan and Nita Tan. Its history is as lovely and grand as the present beauty that awaits visitors who take the time out to commune with nature in this glorious haven in Negros Occidental. Situated right in the boundaries of two of the most progressive cities in the province – Bacolod City and Talisay City, Campuestohan is a 5-hectare property that radiates the splendor of the lush green forests of Mt. Makawili. From this vantage point, one can see the breathtaking view of almost half of the entire province of Negros Occidental, and even that of Panay Island. Most of the time, the weather in the resort is downright cool while one can see the seemingly merciless heat in the plains below. Back then, Mr. and Mrs. Tan were only dreaming of a retirement home where they can relax in their advancing years. The owners of this vast area in Campuestohan offered the property to the couple, and even though they have not seen the property as Mr. Tan was busy with his political plans at that time, they decided to purchase it. When the couple finally had […]

Capilay Springs Park is located right at the heart of town in San Juan. These twin swimming pools were developed out of natural springs flowing from under a wall of rocky limestone cliff. Use is open and free to the general public. Strategically and beautifully located on top of the cliff sits an old Roman Catholic Church, overlooking the pools and the lower part of the quiet town. The spring waters flow and empty downstream into San Juan Bay, only a few steps away, where one can also enjoy the wider and open bay waters. – Limocon Pictures courtesy of “Island Lures”. Skydiving is parachuting from an airplane for fun. Skydiving can be done individually and with groups of people. Training is required. Unlike most paratroopers, skydivers often wait until they are low, before opening the parachute. The jump can also be made from a helicopter or a balloon that is high enough in the sky. Skydiving can be an exciting sport. Skydiving includes free falling (usually from an aeroplane) through the air prior to opening a parachute. Typically skydives are carried out from around 4,000m (or 12,500ft) offering 40 to 50 seconds of freefall time. Longer free fall times can be achieved by exiting an aircraft at altitudes much higher than 4,000m, but such jumps require pressurised oxygen within the aircraft as well as bottled oxygen for very high skydives. During a skydive, total freedom and control of the air can be enjoyed as well as many complex and spectacular manoeuvres including flat turns, somersaults and formation skydiving. Skydiving can be enjoyed either as an individual – doing solo jumps – or as part of a team carrying out formation skydiving. Generally, the term ‘skydive’ refers to the time spent in freefall from exiting an aircraft to deploying a parachute but […]
